In 1877, French scientist Charles Cros wrote a paper describing the sound recording process and is regarded as the inventor of the phonograph in France. In America, Thomas Edison got the credit. In 1906, San Francisco was hit by a 7.9 earthquake. In 1909, Joan of Arc was beatified. In 1934, the first laundromat opened in Fort Worth, TX.
