May 27. In 1647, America executed its first so-called witch, Alice Young. In 1668, three colonists were expelled from Massachusetts for being Baptists. In 1907, the Bubonic Plague broke out in San Francisco. In 1941, the Bismarck was sunk, killing 2100 German soldiers. In 1964, 11 boys were suspended in Coventry England for having hair like Mick Jagger.
